Once, the angel Jibrail asked the Prophet ﷺ: What is Ihsan (excellence)?" The Prophet ﷺ answered: "Ihsan is to worship Allah as if you see Him, and even if you do not see Him, know that He (Allah) sees you."[Sahih Bukhari]
This aspect of ibaadah - being conscious that God is always watching us- is a part of taqwa. We should inculcate this understanding in our children from a young age.
