About The Authors

Yasminah Hashim is a young lawyer from Saudi Arabia. Believing strongly in the value of history, she started writing A Journey Through Islamic History at the age of seventeen with an aim to provide an engaging introduction to Islamic history. Yasminah has been a committed youth activist and is a co-founder of Young Lawyers United, which promotes professional development and legal activism. Yasminah now works as a legal consultant at a law firm in Jeddah. 

Dr Muhammad Abdul Jabbar Beg was a lecturer in the Faculty of Islamic Studies at the University of Malaysia (1974-78). He was then promoted to the office of an Associate Professor (1979-1986) in the Department of Arabic Studies and Islamic Civilization. During the rest of his career, he has been an Associate Professor at various Universities, including the University of Brunei. He holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge and has made useful contributions through books, articles in journals and conference papers. He lives in Cambridge and is associated with the University.
