is a beautiful descriptive seerah. I bought it thinking it would be a narrative, historical and sequential account (everything explained in order of how it happens) but it turns out rather to be a description of the various merciful qualities of Nabi ﷺ. It includes many hadith, excerpts from the Quran and references to scholarly work and is written by the same man who wrote “Fortress of the Muslim”. I’m only around half way through but It’s bought me to tears several times and I’ve picked up some Islamic rulings also that I did not know prior.
I would not recommend this for anyone seeking a head to toe detailed account of the full history of the Prophet’s ﷺ story given the book does not serve this purpose.
But I would highly recommend it to anyone who wishes to learn more about (the merciful qualities of) the Prophet ﷺ through the analytical lens of an esteemed scholar who at many things points out things that you would miss if you read the Hadith without an explanation.
It’s a 4/5 stars for me currently but again I’ve only read the 1/2 the book and expected something else at the start. So really this is my personal problem and not a reflection of the book 🤣 and my official rating is 5/5.
