A guide for adults supporting children through stressful and distressing experiences. It discusses signs of trauma, the different ways children may respond, and coping approaches for both children and their caregivers. Situations considered include war, domestic violence, divorce and bullying, with attention to supporting children’s learning alongside their emotional needs.
Who is it for?
Parents, caregivers and educators looking for an introductory resource on recognising distress and offering informed support to young children.
Why choose it?
Its practical focus helps adults look beyond outward behaviour and consider what a child may be experiencing. This is an adult parenting resource, not a children’s storybook or a replacement for professional safeguarding or mental-health support.
